Employment Market Information

According to the Employment Exchange (CNV) Act, 1959 and the Rules, 1960 framed there under, it is obligatory on the part of the employer to furnish the ER-I returns to the Employment Exchange regularly. The EMI programme relates to the “Organised sector of our economy”. This organized sector covers all establishment in the public sector, irrespective of the size and non-agricultural establishment in the private sectors employing 10 or more persons. Accordingly information in respect of public sector establishment and non-agricultural establishment in the private sector employing 25 or more persons is collected statutorily under the provisions of the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959. The EMI data are furnished by the establishments through the ER-I returns.
 
The Form ER-I is used for the collection of information from the establishments (Public/Private Sectors) at quarterly intervals i.e. 31st March, 30th June, 30th September and 31st December of each and every year. The quarterly returns collected from the establishments are being sent to DGE, New Delhi. Besides, ER-I return, the Monthly (E.S.1.1), Quarterly (CP-1), Half Yearly (E.S.2.1, E.S.2.3, E.S.2.4) and Annual (E.S. 1.2, E.S.1.3, E.S.1.4, E.S.1.6, E.S.2.2, E.S.2.6) returns are being sent to DGE, New Delhi
