Payment of Wages Act, 1965

This is an act to provide for the payment of bonus to persons employed in certain establishments on the basis of profits or on the basis of production or productivity and for matters connected therewith. This Act applies to every factory and every other establishment in which twenty or more persons are employed on any day during an accounting year. This act provides for payment of a minimum bonus of 8.33 percent of the salary or wage to every employee who has worked for not less than 30 working days on an accounting year and for maximum of 20%

The Deputy Labour Commissioner, Labour Officers and the Assistant Inspectors of Labour have been declared as inspectors under this act
