The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979

The Act provides to regulate the employment of Inter-State Migrant Workmen to safeguard their interest and to provide for their conditions of service and for matters connected herewith
This Administration has framed the Inter-state Migrant Workmen (Regulations of Employment and Conditions of Services) Puducherry Rules, 2012 and the same is implemented in the UT of Puducherry

Inspectors
The Deputy Labour Commissioner, Labour Officers and the Assistant Inspectors of Labour have been declared as inspectors under this act

Licensing Officer
The Labour Officers has been declared as Licensing Officer under this act

Registering Officers
The Deputy Labour Commissioner has been declared as Registering Officer under this act

Appellate Authority
The Commissioner of Labour has been declared as Appellate Authority under this act
