The Board is not receiving any Grants-in-aid from the Government and the expenditure on its entire administration and extension of various welfare benefits is being met through the revenue collected @ 1% on the total cost of any construction work as stipulated under Section 3 of the Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1996”. An amount of Rs.46,61,71,554/- has been collected as Cess amount and an amount of Rs.13,37,89,968/- has been spent for providing various welfare benefits to the construction workers. So far 38,198 various categories of construction workers have been enrolled in the Board.
